Stupid “thinspiration”

I’ve seen a lot of blog posts lately about how awesome Pinterest is and yet also, how annoying.  Especially the “motivational” weight loss stuff.  I have nothing against finding what motivates you to lose weight but most of that stuff on there is only going to motivate you to an eating disorder or a body image problem.  I came across this today and it is really, really bugging me.

This isn’t even the worst one I’ve come across but it’s really sticking with me.  What does it even mean?!  That if you want to be skinny you’re not allowed to eat flavorful things?  Doesn’t almost all food have some kind of flavor?  I’m all for being healthy and losing weight but I don’t think this post is going to get anyone to go about doing it in a healthy manner.  There is nothing wrong with enjoying what you eat, it’s about finding the balance and making smart choices.  Ughhh, I’m so annoyed with whoever made this and with every single person who keeps repinning and putting stuff like “this is so true” “must remember this” etc.   I feel the need to go find and pin a bunch of dessert recipes just to make up for the bad taste this is leaving in my mouth.

You should totally do that - with lots and lots of fat in the dessert pictures ;-)!
I haven't gotten into pinterest at all. I'm always so far behind the times.
But this picture is disgusting and weird.

Wow, that is retarded. Does looking at photos like this really help women find motivation?
